What are Credit Suisse expectations with respect to the graduates? Which qualities you believe are essential for successful career in Credit Suisse?

- We are looking for well rounded people with strong analytical and interpersonal skills who have an interest in a career in finance. Successful candidates usually come from a top tier university. Academic achievements (graduation with honours, published research papers, academic prizes and stipends) play an important role in our selection process as they indicate the strength of analytical skills  as well as a commitment to success. But we also looking for people who have interests outside of their field of study such as playing sports, playing a musical instrument, doing voluntary work – it helps to broaden the horizons of a future banker.

We know that Credit Suisse recruits graduates from all over the world. How in your opinion Russian students differ from other students?

- Russian graduates usually rate very highly on analytical skills and their work ethics. The only advice I would give them is to ensure they invest time into practicing their business English. During the interview they will also be assessed on whether they can adapt easily to an international environment.  We encourage students to spend a few months abroad as part of an exchange programme.

What is your message to the students who plan this year to apply for Credit Suisse vacancies and internship programs?

- Do your homework and try to understand the nuances of the job you apply for. The most successful candidate is one who knows what he wants, understands the requirements of a job and knows how he can add value.
